The Simpson Strong-Tie EPC6Z post cap is designed with the post and beam flanges in-line so that the EPC6Z end post cap can accommodate (3) 6x post sizes. The EPC6Z now uses easier-to-install 10d common nails saving you both time and labor. An alternate choice of fasteners is Strong-Drive® #9x1 1/2" SD Connector screws. This thicker coating is available on select Simpson Strong-Tie connectors. Due to this increased galvanized thickness these connectors would be expected to have a longer service life than standard galvanized connectors.
